HRINZ Sustaining Work Conference 2008

HRINZ Sustainability Panel

Friday saw Wendy participating in a Plenary discussion of the annual Human Resources Institute New Zealand conference. The theme for the whole conference was Sustainability, and every effort was made by the Institute to ‘walk the talk’. Details such as choosing 100% recycled paper for the conference programmes and utilising international speakers already in New Zealand were among the efforts HRINZ made to reduce the carbon footprint of the conference. We congratulate HRINZ for their initiatives, and hope that their case study will provide future conferences at Wellington Convention Centre with a great foundation.

Wendy discussed how changes to demographics might affect the labour force in New Zealand, and how we need a new definition of ‘Hard Work’ to take us into the future. You can read the Think Piece we prepared to accompany her presentation here.
