Nation Voices will be published in 2020 and will use the lens of character and oratory to examine our nation’s 40 premiers and prime ministers. The book will also contain the winning essay from an 18-25 year old about what makes a good prime minister for New Zealand. Learn more about the essay competition here. This book is a companion to the Institute’s previous book Nation Dates: Significant events that shaped the nation of New Zealand.

AntifragileNZ: Designing our future through film
The Institute has begun scoping its eighth workshop AntifragileNZ, where young New Zealanders will create videos and animations that explore New Zealand’s long-term future. The Institute’s goal is to ensure that the public is better informed about how to make New Zealand ‘antifragile’, so that we can not only withstand but benefit from shocks and uncertainties. As Nassim Nicholas Taleb explains in his book Antifragile, ‘Antifragility is beyond resilience or robustness. The resilient resists shocks and stays the same; the antifragile gets better’.
