At the TacklingPovertyNZ Manawatu workshop on 15 August 2016 participants discussed challenges and opportunities in the local area. Five key themes emerged: the Role of Housing, Youth/Under 5s, Health and Wellbeing, Māori and Elderly. From these, 32 ‘hows’ to tackle poverty were identified.
We are seeking to further stress-test these ‘hows’ through a public survey. The survey will help us shape the content of the discussion paper, which will be given to the Chief Economist at the New Zealand Treasury.
The survey will be open until Tuesday, 20 September, 2016. You can complete the survey here.
