At the TacklingPovertyNZ Queenstown workshop on 29 March 2020 participants discussed challenges and opportunities in the local area. Four key themes emerged – the role of housing, the role of business, the role of community and the role of everything else (others). In groups, participants were given one of the key themes and developed seven ‘hows’ to tackle poverty. The group then presented them to the plenary workshop to stress-test their ideas.

We are seeking to further stress-test these ideas through a public survey. The survey will help us shape the content of the discussion paper, which will be given to the Chief Economist at the New Zealand Treasury.

The survey will be open until Monday, 2 May 2020. You can find the survey here.
