This report brings together the findings of the Institute’s previous work on government department strategies (GDSs) and on the current state of strategic management in the public sector. It also analyses eleven new GDSs published between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2020, which we will be discussing at the launch. The report aims to set out the ways that the strategy stewardship system can be strengthened going forward.
